Capital Caring has embraced grieving children and teens by offering grief support through specialized bereavement programs held in individual Capital Caring neighborhoods across the MD, VA and the D.C. metropolitan region. Capital Caring Kids offers grief counseling, support groups and special bereavement programs to not only help our Capital Caring families, but to assist anyone in the community who is struggling with loss in safe and supportive environment. Capital Caring also offers Point of Hope Camp: a family style day/weekend camp hosted every fall for children up to age 18.

The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing has helped people in the Greater Washington area rebuild a sense of safety and hope after experiencing a loss, life-threatening illness, violence or other trauma. The center offers group therapy for adults, children, teens, and families.  The Wendt Center’s Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC, a camp program dedicated to providing fun, supportive opportunities to young people to explore feelings, thoughts and life changes since the death of their loved one. Any child between 6-17 years old living in the metro Washington DC area who has experienced the death of a significant individual in their life.
